In a statement, Cardinal Reina emphasized that he is following reports on the Pope's health with attention and trust. He asked the faithful, along with parish and religious communities in Rome, to pray so that God may give Francis the strength to overcome this difficult moment.

The Vicar for the Diocese of Rome expressed a collective plea, asking for divine support to grant the bishop the strength needed to navigate this challenging time.

The Pope's health condition

The 88-year-old Pope Francis has been in the hospital for six days.

Concern was raised by a statement from the Vatican on Tuesday evening, informing that the clinical condition of the 88-year-old Pope, being treated at Gemelli Polyclinic, is "complex." It was pointed out that there is a "polymicrobial infection" resulting from bronchiectasis and asthmatic inflammation, which requires cortisone antibiotic therapy.

"A follow-up chest CT scan, to which the Holy Father was subjected this afternoon—prescribed by the Vatican medical team and the medical staff of the "A. Gemelli" Polyclinic Foundation—revealed the onset of bilateral pneumonia, requiring additional pharmacological therapy," the Vatican announced.
