Trump's approval dips as economic concerns rise
The percentage of Americans who view Donald Trump positively during his second presidency has declined from 47% to 44%, according to an IPSOS poll. Despite this, 47% of Americans approve of his immigration policy, although concerns about the state of the economy are growing.
According to a survey commissioned by Reuters, in the first month of Donald Trump's presidency, his approval rating among Americans decreased from 47% to 44%, while the number of people negatively assessing his performance increased from 41% to 51%.
Although 47% of respondents view Trump's immigration policy positively, his actions in the economic sphere are causing increasing concern. At the end of January, 43% of those surveyed supported the president's policy in this area. By mid-February, only 39% did. Only 32% of respondents rated his actions positively regarding inflation, and 41% approved of his trade policy.
This was the foundation of Trump's political strength
This decline is accompanied by a growing belief that the state of the economy is weakening. The percentage of people who assessed the situation this way increased from 43% to 53% since the end of January.
Reuters observes that the core of Trump's political support stemmed from voters' belief that his policies would benefit the economy. However, the evaluation of Trump's economic policies still surpasses that of his successor, Joe Biden.
Analysts pointed out that one of the main reasons for the Democrats' defeat in the November elections was Americans' disappointment with the state of the economy.
