Trump hints at likely February meeting with Putin
The U.S. President, Donald Trump, announced that he will likely meet with Vladimir Putin before the end of February.
Trump also praised the outcomes of talks with the Russians in Riyadh, stating that they give him "great confidence" in the prospects of achieving peace.
Trump-Putin meeting "probable"
During a conversation with journalists, Trump was asked about plans to meet with Putin. He responded that it is "probable." The President also expressed satisfaction with the initial talks between the American and Russian delegations in Riyadh, suggesting Russia's willingness to cooperate in ending conflicts.
Trump emphasized that the talks were "very good" and that Russia wants "to stop the wild barbarism."
On Tuesday in Riyadh, the first meeting in years between the American and Russian delegations took place. In the capital of Saudi Arabia, the heads of diplomacy from both countries—Sergey Lavrov and Marco Rubio—held discussions. During the meeting, it was agreed, among other things, to establish special teams focused on ending the war in Ukraine.
