French officials baffled by Trump's claims on Ukraine conflict
- We don't understand the logic very well - said French government spokesperson Sophie Primas. This was in reaction to Donald Trump's comments suggesting that Kyiv started the war and that Zelensky lacks support in society.
US President Donald Trump criticized Ukraine during a press conference. He stated that Kyiv should have ended the war three years ago, at its very beginning. He even suggested that Ukraine itself initiated it. - You should have never started it. You could have made a deal - he said.
Trump also criticized Zelensky directly. - We have a situation where we haven’t had elections in Ukraine. Well, we have martial law, essentially martial law in Ukraine, where the leader in Ukraine, I mean, I hate to say it, but he’s down at 4% approval rating and where a country has been blown to smithereens. You got most of the cities are laying on their sides - he said.

Volodymyr Zelensky also responded to Trump's comments on Wednesday. He emphasized that he usually does not comment on polls or popularity rankings but pointed out that in the latest surveys, he is trusted by 57 percent of Ukrainians.
The President of Ukraine accused Trump's circle of being influenced by "disinformation coming from Russia." - With all due respect to President Donald Trump as a leader....he is living in this disinformation bubble - he said.
