"In accordance with the directive of the Secretary of the Security Council of the Chechen Republic, Adam Ramzanovich Kadyrov, his deputies Aslan Zhulagov and Salambek Abdrashitov held a working meeting with the First Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Chechen Republic, Rizvan Zalayev," reports a Security Council press release, as cited by the "Agency" editorial office.

This information was reprinted by the state media outlets "Grozny-Inform" and "Chechnya Today," both owned by the republic's government.

Previously, the position of Secretary of the Security Council was held by Khamzat Kadyrov, the cousin of the republic's leader. Until now, there has been no official announcement regarding this change in leadership of the advisory body. Khamzat Kadyrov is still listed as the Secretary on the Security Council's website. The last mention of him in state media was on April 7, when he received the anniversary medal of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Chechen Republic.

Gained notoriety for brutally beating an activist

Adam Kadyrov attracted public attention in 2023 after he assaulted Nikita Zhuravel in a pre-trial detention facility in Grozny, the latter was accused of burning the Quran. Following this incident, Adam began receiving numerous awards and nominations.

Among his honors are the title of Hero of Chechnya, the "Dushlyk" order (the second highest award in Tatarstan), the highest order of Karachay-Cherkessia "For Services to the KChR," the order "For Services to the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic," the order "For Service to the Religion of Islam" I degree, and the medal "For Services to the Ummah".

In March, the National Guard awarded him a departmental medal "For Combat Distinction" for his "significant contribution" to the conflict against Ukraine, despite Adam Kadyrov not having participated in combat operations.

The position of Secretary of the Security Council is not his first high-profile appointment. In March, he was appointed as the curator of the republican Ministry of Internal Affairs, and earlier, he led the department responsible for protecting the head of the region.

The dual identity of Kadyrov's son

In October 2024, his name was entered into the Russian Book of Records as the youngest head of a security service for a leader of a federation unit, at the age of 16.

In April, "Agency" reported, citing border service data, that Adam Kadyrov uses two different passports for international travel. In one, he is listed as Mochmad Ramzanovich Kadyrov, and in the other, as Mochmad Ramzanovich Musaev.
