Russian authorities are exploring ways to protect the domestic maritime market from foreign competition. According to "Kommersant," various scenarios are being considered, including the creation of joint ventures with a dominant share for Russian partners. The aim is to avoid renewed dependence on foreign companies that left the market in 2022.

One of the solutions being considered is differentiating port fees, which would increase costs for carriers from countries enforcing sanctions against Russia.

Additionally, the authorities plan to introduce concessions for Russian carriers and companies operating within joint ventures. These actions are intended to strengthen the position of domestic operators in the market.

Plans also include support for Russian transport companies affected by sanctions. The proposed measures include subsidies for leasing, insurance, and port infrastructure development.

The authorities also plan to support the development of the domestic shipbuilding industry to enhance the competitiveness of Russian maritime transport.
