During the mushroom-picking season, mushrooms might be overlooked a bit. However, they make a comeback when guests are expected, a family gathering is being prepared, or a party with friends is on the horizon. The unassuming mushrooms then transform into delicious stuffed snacks. They are so tasty that it's hard to resist them when they appear on the table.
Stuffed mushrooms - a simple snack recipe
Mushrooms are often stuffed with ground meat, but this recipe is even quicker, simpler, and more economical. Adults will dig in right away, but children may also be tempted. Wild mushrooms should not be eaten until the age of 12, whereas common mushrooms can be included in the diet earlier.
All you need are a few simple ingredients that you can find in any kitchen: mushrooms, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, and cheese. In just a few moments, you can prepare delicious stuffed mushrooms perfect for a party snack or a light dinner. You can add other favorite herbs to the stuffing, such as rosemary, thyme, or oregano.
Ingredients:
- 16 large mushrooms,
- 1 large onion,
- 1 clove of garlic,
- 2 oz of grated yellow cheese,
- 2 oz of butter,
- 2 oz of breadcrumbs,
- Chopped parsley,
- Salt and pepper to taste,
- Oil.
Instructions:
- Wash the mushrooms thoroughly and cut off the stems. You don't need to peel them.
- Finely chop the onion and garlic. You can press the garlic through a press.
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onion with the garlic.
- Add the chopped mushroom stems, breadcrumbs, spices, and mix well.
- Fill each mushroom cap with the prepared stuffing.
- Sprinkle with grated yellow cheese and place in an oven preheated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 minutes until the cheese melts and turns golden brown.
Delicious and simple stuffed mushrooms are now ready to eat. You can additionally drizzle them with garlic, cheese, or tomato sauce. Enjoy!
What stuffing for mushrooms?
Mushrooms can also be stuffed with other fillings. Ground meat sautéed earlier with onions and garlic, cooked millet or buckwheat with dried tomatoes, herbs, and nuts, or a mix of finely chopped vegetables, deli meats, and cheese will work well here.
