Will the Kremlin build Trump Tower in Moscow?

According to reports from "The Moscow Times," Russian officials are considering reviving plans to build a Trump Tower in Moscow.

The project would entail constructing a 150-story skyscraper in the capital's business district, with Donald Trump scheduled to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony. The aim was to capture Trump's attention and improve relations between Russia and the U.S.

Following Trump's victory in the U.S. presidential election, Russian officials and major companies were tasked with preparing proposals for renewing cooperation with the United States. Emphasis was placed on ideas that might appeal to Trump. Russian companies like Rosneft, Rosatom, and Polyus Gold, which are under U.S. sanctions, were involved in these plans.

Return to a project from years ago

The initial plans to build Trump Tower in Moscow emerged in 2013, when Trump proposed constructing a 58-story skyscraper. This project did not materialize, but in 2015, Felix Sater, an American developer of Russian origin, attempted to revive it. The project was once again halted when Trump's presidential campaign began.

The proposed Trump Tower in Moscow was to feature 250 luxury apartments, a 15-story hotel with 150 rooms, a spa, office space, a fitness center, and a high-end parking area.

Trump on relations with Russia and Ukraine

On April 21st, Donald Trump announced that Russia and Ukraine could potentially reach an agreement to end the war "this week." He suggested that if steps towards peace are not taken, Washington might withdraw its efforts to support the peace talks.
