Many of the reports provided by Russian media or government representatives are elements of propaganda. Such reports are part of the information war conducted by the Russian Federation.

After Tuesday's discussions in Riyadh, Vladimir Putin emphasized that resolving critical issues, including the Ukrainian crisis, will be impossible without enhancing trust between Russia and the United States.

Putin argues it's about trust

Quoted by the Kremlin's RIA Novosti news agency, the Russian dictator maintains that the overriding goal of the meeting in the capital of Saudi Arabia was "rebuilding trust" between Russia and the USA.

He argues that Kyiv's hysteria about the negotiations between Russia and the USA is unfounded. Additionally, he asserts that Russia does not interfere in the matters of the USA and the EU and that Europe has no reason to react negatively to the meeting between the Russian and American delegations.

Putin's conversation with Trump

Putin, quoted by the propaganda agency, states that during a phone call, President Donald Trump confirmed that the United States expects the negotiation process to involve both Russia and Ukraine. He further emphasizes that Ukraine is not being excluded from this process.

On Tuesday in Riyadh, the first meeting in years between the American and Russian delegations took place. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov agreed that teams will be formed to work towards the quickest possible resolution of the war in Ukraine.
