Majority of Americans uneasy with economy because of Trump policies
Donald Trump might once again be dissatisfied with the poll results. It turns out that Americans feel uneasy about the current economic situation in the United States, according to the latest study from the University of Massachusetts.
The UMass Amherst Research Center at the University of Massachusetts published the latest poll, which surveyed Americans' moods. Respondents evaluated, among other things, the state of the U.S. economy and Donald Trump's overall policy.
The study reveals that the majority of Americans are concerned about the economic situation in the United States. Seventy-five percent of those surveyed indicated that the economy is "fair" or "poor." This is a decline compared to the last survey. In October 2024, 68 percent of people viewed the American economy this way.
More than half of those surveyed also believe that the country's development is heading in the wrong direction. Only 35 percent of those surveyed view it positively.
Evaluation of Donald Trump
The survey also asked about the overall evaluation of Donald Trump's policies. Forty-four percent of those surveyed strongly support his work and political direction, while 51 percent of respondents view Donald Trump negatively.
Americans are particularly concerned about the fact that Donald Trump ignores court rulings in the United States. As many as 65 percent of those surveyed believe that such a situation should not occur.
CBS News reports that the survey results align with the support framework for political parties in the United States. Polls show that Democrats and Republicans can enjoy the support of roughly half of Americans, with a slight inclination towards Democratic Party politicians.
The UMass survey was published on Wednesday, April 16, and was conducted from April 4 to 9 with a sample of 1,000 individuals.
