- Turkey and the United Kingdom also have the right to participate in these talks and to develop the necessary security guarantees. (...) Together with America. The war is happening in our part of the world - said Volodymyr Zelensky in Ankara.

The Ukrainian leader met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday.

At the joint press conference, Zelensky emphasized that "to end the war in a lasting and stable way, no negligence can be allowed."

- This will only be possible when the talks lead to a just, fair peace. And they will be conducted with the participation of everyone - said Zelensky, pointing to Ukraine, the USA, and all of Europe. He emphasized that Turkey is an important part of Europe.

Talks on Ukraine in Riyadh

Earlier in Riyadh, delegations from the USA and Russia discussed ending the war in Ukraine.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov agreed that teams would be formed to work towards the quickest possible end to the war in Ukraine. There will be a place at the negotiation table for Europe because, as the American side claims, "to end the conflict, there must be concessions from all sides."

- The American side has started to better understand our position. The agreements we have reached guarantee the quickest appointment of ambassadors for Russia and the USA and solve the problems that the Joe Biden administration has built over the years - stated Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov after the meeting in Riyadh.
