Ukrainian operation deals $5M blow to russian defenses in Crimea

Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR) reported the destruction of the Russian Podlet radar station in Crimea. The operation took place on November 28, 2024, near the town of Kotowskie.
"As a result of a successful operation by DIU, a Russian Podlet radar station was destroyed near the village of Kotovske in the west of temporarily occupied Crimea," the statement reads.
The Podlet radar station, valued at $5 million, was used to detect aerial targets at low altitudes.
A blow to occupation forces in Crimea
It was crucial for the S-300 and S-400 air defense systems. "The intelligence explains that this radar is used by the Russian troops to detect airborne assets at low and extremely low altitudes in a difficult interference environment. The estimated cost of the destroyed Russian radar station is US$5 million," reports Ukrainska Pravda.
The mobile 48IA6-K1 Podlet radar station was used by the Russian military in jamming conditions. The destruction of this station is a significant blow to the Russian armed forces in Crimea.
