Ukrainian forces strike key Russian oil station as talks loom
The Ukrainian armed forces have no intention of backing down, despite the upcoming negotiations between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported that the attack on the oil pumping station in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, was successful. This poses a significant problem for two refineries.
Ukraine is in a difficult position as negotiations between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump approach. The American politician and the Russian leader do not plan to include representatives from Ukraine at the table in Riyadh.
Nevertheless, Ukrainian forces ensure they remind the Russians of their presence. The SBU reported that on February 20, a successful drone raid targeted an oil pumping station in Krasnodar Krai, Russia.
Drones struck the power substation supplying electricity to the Russian pump, leading to a power outage in the region. The outage caused a power supply interruption at the Novovelichkovskaya pumping station.
The pumping station is a crucial part of Russia's infrastructure. It supplies oil to the Afipka and Ilsky oil refineries. It is one of the key components in Russia's oil processing system.
Is the Ukraine-Russia conflict entering a decisive phase?
In the coming weeks, it will become clear how the potential negotiations between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Riyadh will conclude. Until then, we can expect intensified military actions.
Meanwhile, Ukrainians will continue to attack Russian infrastructure, depriving the Russian army of essential financial resources. There is also a possibility of intensified actions in the Kursk region, which is still partially under the control of Ukrainian armed forces.
