Trump won't join Putin for Moscow's Victory Day parade
Dmitry Peskov commented on media reports suggesting that Donald Trump is expected to participate in the Victory Day celebrations, which traditionally take place on May 9 in Moscow. The Kremlin spokesperson stated that the visit of the U.S. president on this day is not planned. Trump himself had previously denied these reports.
- The arrival of U.S. President Donald Trump to Russia for the Victory Day celebrations on May 9 has not been planned, said Peskov. His words were quoted by the RBK portal.
Meanwhile, the French weekly "Le Point," citing its sources, reported on Friday that Donald Trump will meet with Vladimir Putin on May 9. This date is symbolic for Russia, as Moscow celebrates Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War on this day.
"What victory will Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump celebrate on May 9, 2025? Likely not the one achieved by the Allies in 1945, but their own joint one in peace negotiations on Ukraine, which, according to Gen. Kellogg's plan, are supposed to be completed… on May 9," reads the weekly.

Trump in Moscow? Washington denies
As noted in the commentary, if this plan succeeds, it will mean a triumph for Putin, who, justifying the invasion of Ukraine, compared Ukrainians to Nazis.
A few hours later, Donald Trump was asked about the French weekly's report. His response was brief and decisive: "No, no, I don't plan to."
