Ukrainian drone assault shakes Moscow, sparks regional chaos
During the night from Monday to Tuesday, drones appeared over Moscow. The mayor of the Russian capital reported that a "massive attack" had been carried out. Ukrainians have not yet commented on these reports.
Many pieces of information reported by Russian media or government representatives are elements of propaganda. Such reports are part of the information warfare conducted by the Russian Federation.
Early in the morning on March 11, Ukrainian drones conducted a massive attack on Moscow, according to Sergey Sobyanin, the mayor of the capital. His data indicates that from about 8:30 PM to 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 69 drones were shot down on the outskirts of the city.
As a result of falling debris in the Moscow region, one person died—a security guard at the "Miratorg" distribution center in Domodedovo. At the time of the drone strike, he was next to a car in the parking lot, reported the portal Shot. An intense fire completely consumed 20 vehicles. Three people were injured in the towns of Vidnoye and Domodedovo, according to the governor of the Moscow region, Andrey Vorobyov.
Kiev has not yet commented on this matter.
Vorobyov said emergency services received reports about drones from Kolomna, Zaraysk, Serebryanye Prudy, Serpukhov, Ramenskoye, Voskresensk, Lukhovitsy, Bronnitsy, Domodedovo, Leninsky district, Podolsk, Elektrostal, and Kotelniki.
Moscow Railway reported that the Domodedovo station's railway infrastructure sustained minor damage due to falling drone debris. Nobody was harmed. Repair teams are working on the scene, and train traffic toward Moscow has been delayed. Due to the drone attack, the "Carpet" plan was implemented at the Zhukovsky and Domodedovo airports, which entails limitations in air traffic.
The previous largest Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow took place on November 10 last year. At that time, 32 drones were destroyed on the outskirts of the capital.
Attack on the day of talks with the USA? Delegation from Kiev already in Saudi Arabia
On Tuesday, talks between representatives of the USA and Ukraine will take place in Saudi Arabia. It will be the first meeting between delegations from both countries since the dispute between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House.
"We hope for practical outcomes. Ukraine's position in these talks will be fully constructive," assured Zelensky in a post on platform X.
The Ukrainian delegation in Saudi Arabia includes key representatives, including Andriy Yermak, head of the president's office; Andriy Sybiha, Foreign Minister; and Rustem Umerov, defense minister.
Although present in Saudi Arabia, President Zelensky will not participate in the negotiations themselves.
