According to the Defence Express portal, Ukrainians are "actively enhancing their combat capabilities by utilizing advanced CV90 infantry fighting vehicles delivered by Sweden during these exercises." The training focused on honing skills in rapid deployment and targeting to ensure CV90 crews are prepared for effective action in various combat scenarios, including high-intensity engagements.

In discussions with media representatives, Ukrainian soldiers utilizing CV90s emphasize that these are the most modern vehicles they've received as support from the West. They stand out for their mobility, firepower, and crew safety.

The CV90 weighs between 44,000 lbs and 84,000 lbs, depending on its configuration. Heavier variants, such as the Strf 9040C, with additional armor and enhanced optics, have appeared in Ukraine. Ukrainian soldiers also have access to the specialized Barracuda camouflage, which reduces the vehicle's thermal signature, making it significantly harder for enemy observation systems to detect.

The CV90s sent to Ukraine are offensively adept because their turrets are equipped with a Bofors 40 mm cannon capable of firing several types of ammunition. The Swedish vehicles are powered by Scania engines, enabling speeds of up to 43 mph on roads and about 28 mph off-road.

The Ukrainians have made considerable efforts to acquire as many Swedish vehicles as possible. Last year, they succeeded with an agreement announced between Stockholm and Kyiv, which will see additional CV90s delivered to Ukraine, including some of the latest CV9035 MkIIIC with 35 mm Bushmaster III cannons.
