On Thursday, Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine using various types of missiles. The Ukrainian army claims that one of the missiles used was an intercontinental ballistic missile, reportedly launched from Russia's Astrakhan region near the Caspian Sea.

At this time, the Ukrainian army's claims cannot be independently verified.

Russia did not use an intercontinental ballistic missile in Thursday's attack against Ukraine, writes ABC News, citing a Western official. The official told ABC News that it was a ballistic missile aimed at the city of Dnipro.

Meanwhile, Russia has not commented on these reports. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov declined to comment and stated that all questions should be directed to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Massive attack on Ukraine: Casualties and injuries reported

In total, Russia used six strategic bombers to conduct Thursday's attack. At least three people were killed, and 22 others were injured.

The attack resulted in emergency power outages in several regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk.
