U.S. halts intel sharing, leaving Ukraine in the dark
The United States has stopped sharing intelligence data with Ukraine. Former GROM commander Gen. Roman Polko believes that this decision will have a greater impact on the frontline situation than the halt of military aid by the U.S. "It means the paralysis of special units," he emphasized.
Until now, U.S. intelligence had been assisting Kyiv with early warnings about Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities, allowing authorities and civilians to prepare for them. According to Reuters, the decision to stop intelligence sharing could affect Ukraine's defensive capabilities.
This is a powerful blow, even greater than stopping arms supplies. It essentially means the paralysis of special units, those operating deep behind the lines, said General Polko on TVP Info.
Now Ukraine has to fight with "closed eyes," meaning without situational awareness. Without the informational advantage and full data from the Americans, Ukraine's effectiveness will decrease significantly, he added.
Some data flows to Ukraine. Head of BBN confirms
BBN Chief Gen. Dariusz Łukowski explained that the halted information was used for deep strikes within Ukraine. However, he added that the Americans are still providing data on Russian military movements.
There is no indication that the exchange of information about the situation around the battlefield has been stopped, said Łukowski.
