Witkoff's discussions with Putin are part of the Trump administration's efforts to negotiate a 30-day ceasefire in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. This marks the third meeting between Witkoff and Putin, reported the Axios portal earlier, noting Trump's envoy's trip to Russia.

This time, Witkoff traveled to St. Petersburg. He also met with Putin there.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, when asked about the potential duration of the meeting, replied that the talks could last "one hour, two, three, or four if necessary." "As long as President Putin needs," he said.

"The painstaking work continues. Naturally, Witkoff, as a special representative of President Trump, will bring something from his president to Putin," said Peskov. He revealed that the conversation would cover "various aspects of the Ukrainian settlement." The Kremlin spokesperson assessed that there are many aspects, and the essence is very complex.
