Trump strips key officials of classified access amid disputes
Donald Trump revoked access to classified information for Antony Blinken and Jake Sullivan, as confirmed by Reuters.
U.S. President Donald Trump decided to revoke access to classified information for Antony Blinken, the former Secretary of State, and Jake Sullivan, the former National Security Advisor. This information was reported by Reuters.
Similar actions were taken by Trump the day before against his predecessor, Joe Biden, depriving him of access to classified information and daily intelligence briefings. This was in response to Biden's decision in 2021, when Trump was stripped of such privileges.
Trump also revoked access to classified information for Biden's Deputy Attorney General, Lisa Monaco. She was involved in coordinating the Department of Justice's response to the Capitol attacks on January 6, 2021.
Trump's further actions
Access to classified information was also revoked for the New York Attorney General, Letitia James, and the Manhattan District Attorney, Alvin Bragg. Both of these individuals were leading cases against Trump.
