Trump proposes us oversight of Ukrainian nuclear plants
U.S. President Donald Trump suggested in a conversation with the Ukrainian president that the United States might take over Ukrainian nuclear power plants for their safety, the White House said in a statement following a phone call with Volodymyr Zelensky.
Donald Trump told the Ukrainian president that the United States could be helpful in managing the power plants.
"American ownership of those plants could be the best protection for that infrastructure," stated a joint release by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and White House National Security Advisor Mike Waltz regarding the conversation between the U.S. president and Zelensky.

The joint statement from Rubio and Waltz indicated that both leaders had agreed on a partial ceasefire concerning attacks on energy facilities.
Reports indicate that Trump inquired with Zelensky about the children who went missing in Ukraine during the war, including those who were abducted. He also pledged to collaborate with both sides to help facilitate their return home.
