- Donald Trump commented on the escalating bombings of Ukraine by Russia in a Sunday post on the Truth Social platform.
- The President of the United States reiterated his earlier observation that "something happened to Vladimir Putin," and went further in his criticism.
- The President also accused Volodymyr Zelensky of causing problems for Ukraine with his statements.
Trump emphasized that he "always had a good relationship with Putin," but, as he stated, "something happened" to the Russian leader. "He has gone absolutely CRAZY! He is needlessly killing a lot of people, and I’m not just talking about soldiers. Missiles and drones are being shot into Cities in Ukraine, for no reason whatsoever," wrote the US President.
"I’ve always said that he wants ALL of Ukraine, not just a piece of it, and maybe that’s proving to be right, but if he does, it will lead to the downfall of Russia!" he added.
Trump sharply criticizes Putin, also criticized Zelensky
Trump did not spare the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky either. "Likewise, President Zelenskyy is doing his Country no favors by talking the way he does. Everything out of his mouth causes problems, I don’t like it, and it better stop," Trump warned.
The US President also reiterated that if he were president, the Russian attack on Ukraine would not have happened. "This is Zelenskyy’s, Putin’s, and Biden’s War, not 'Trump’s,' I am only helping to put out the big and ugly fires, that have been started through Gross Incompetence and Hatred," he summarized.
Trump, commenting on the intensified Russian airstrikes on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, previously said that he would "absolutely" consider imposing new sanctions on Russia, although he did not rule out actually doing it.
