Trump and Zelensky to lead peace talks in Istanbul

Steve Witkoff and Keith Kellogg are set to travel to Istanbul, according to Reuters, which cites sources familiar with the situation. The city on the Bosphorus is expected to host potential Ukrainian-Russian peace negotiations on Thursday.

Reuters reports that the meeting will include the special envoy of the President of the United States for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, and the special envoy for Ukraine, General Keith Kellogg.

President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he is considering attending the talks in Istanbul on Thursday. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has already confirmed his presence. It remains unclear whether Russian leader Vladimir Putin will attend.

According to unofficial reports, Putin will not be traveling to Istanbul.

The President of Ukraine also commented on the possibility of holding discussions with Putin. When asked if Zelensky is considering meeting with another Russian representative in Putin's absence at the Istanbul talks, Podolak responded briefly: No, of course. Well, this is not the format.
