Trump announced the signing of the agreement during a press conference with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. According to the US President, The United States will become the main partner in the extraction of Ukrainian minerals, rare earth metals, as well as oil and gas.

Trump added that American taxpayers will be reimbursed for the aid provided to Ukraine. The president also emphasized that helping Ukraine defend itself against Russia was "a very important thing to do."

Progress in peace talks

Trump also announced that progress towards achieving peace will continue when President Zelensky visits the White House. "We’re working very hard to get that war brought to an end. I think we’ve made a lot of progress, and I think it’s moving along pretty rapidly," he emphasized.

The American leader stated that the war in Ukraine justifies some countries spending 5% of their GDP on defense.

Moreover, Trump called Starmer "a tough negotiator." "I'm not sure I like that," he joked.

The British Prime Minister extended an invitation to Trump to visit the Isles on behalf of King Charles III.
