Many of the reports shared by Russian media and officials are likely not true. Such reports may be part of an information war by the Russian Federation.

"The key condition for preventing the escalation of the conflict and working toward its resolution through political and diplomatic means should be the complete cessation of foreign military assistance and the provision of intelligence information to Kyiv," reads the statement published on the Kremlin’s website.

Thus, the Kremlin demanded actions that had already been undertaken by the authorities in Washington. On March 4, the United States halted the delivery of weapons and intelligence information to Ukraine. The administration of Donald Trump required Ukraine to initiate actions aimed at achieving peace with Russia.

On March 11, 2025, negotiations took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, between representatives of Ukraine and the United States of America. After the negotiations, a joint statement was issued.

"The United States and Ukraine took important steps toward restoring durable peace for Ukraine," it stated. "The United States will immediately lift the pause on intelligence sharing and resume security assistance to Ukraine," it emphasized.

Trump-Putin talk: Russia sets conditions

On Tuesday, late afternoon Eastern time, the phone conversation between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin concluded. In the statements released afterward, both sides conveyed that the Russian dictator agreed to a 30-day suspension of attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

A complete ceasefire was conditioned by Russia on the total halt of Western arms and intelligence supplies to Ukraine.

- We are dealing with Putin's dictate, which President Trump is succumbing to, assessed General Roman Polko in a conversation with Wirtualna Polska, when asked about the US President's conversation with the Russian dictator.

According to the General, the 30-day suspension of attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure is needed by Putin "to rebuild the missile base."
