Russian propagandist warns Sweden and Finland with threats
Leading Russian propagandist Vladimir Solovyov is threatening Sweden and Finland. The presenter of the Russia 1 channel stated on air that NATO countries should "carefully observe the situation" in Russia and also mentioned that the generation of Russians "marches through Europe." Solovyov compared the military potential of Sweden and Finland to that of North Korea.
Russians are preparing for a military parade on Victory Day, which commemorates the end of World War II. Vladimir Putin has invited, among others, the Prime Minister of Slovakia, the President of Brazil, and the President of China to the celebrations.
Russian propaganda has recently been placing significant emphasis on the defeat of the Third Reich. Regime-controlled Russian media highlight the role of Moscow in winning World War II. They also claim that Russian troops have already marched through Europe, winning successive battles.
Vladimir Solovyov is now exploiting history. One of Putin's leading propagandists has threatened Finland and Sweden by belittling their military potential and comparing it to North Korea's strength.
Who should we be afraid of? Sweden, which last fought when its uniforms still had gold buttons? Or perhaps Finland, which we graciously forgave, and whose military potential can be compared to the strength of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea? - Solovyov asked mockingly, ignoring the fact that both countries are NATO members.
Solovyov also took his rhetoric a step further. He stated that Europe should very closely observe Russian moves because "things could go various ways."
We'll see how things turn out. They could turn out differently. Watch us very closely, Europe. Would this be the first time we march through Europe? Of course not. Every generation of Russians has this kind of fun - threatened Solovyov, who has been known for such extreme statements since the beginning of the conflict with Ukraine.
