In Kharkiv, late on Thursday evening, a drone hit a residential building, causing a massive fire, according to Ihor Terekhov, the city's mayor. Initially, reports indicated that 12 people were injured and two were killed. On Friday morning, Terekhov confirmed that four people were killed, and 35 were injured. New Voice of Ukraine emphasized that among the injured were two children.

Attacks on other regions of Ukraine

Not only Kharkiv suffered from the night attacks. In the city of Dnipro in central-eastern Ukraine, three people were injured as a result of a drone attack. In the Kyiv region, two civilians were injured by drone fragments, and in Zaporizhzhia, one person was injured.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, that night Russia sent 78 drones over Ukraine. Thanks to the efforts of rocket forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups, they managed to shoot down 42. Communication was lost with 22 decoy drones.

Ukraine's response

Russian media reported that Ukrainians also carried out drone attacks. The TASS agency mentioned temporary restrictions at Moscow's Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky airports. At least one drone allegedly attacked Moscow and was reportedly shot down by air defense.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that 107 Ukrainian drones were intercepted and destroyed overnight.

Many of the claims conveyed by Russian media and government representatives are likely not true. Such reports may be part of an information war by the Russian Federation.
