Russian drone blitz disrupts Moscow airports, sparks chaos
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Kyiv launched nearly 300 drones at 13 Russian regions. Terrified by the attack, residents are posting videos of the incident online. Explosions occurred in multiple locations, with airports near Moscow being paralyzed. Clouds of black smoke are rising above the "Kronshtadt" drone development plant in Dubna and the technology park in Moscow.
Ukraine will respond to Russian attacks with similar actions; key elements will be strike drones and long-range missiles of its own production, announced President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday in an evening video recording.
In recent days, Russia has conducted massive attacks on Ukraine. President Zelensky reported that in just three days, from Saturday to Monday, hostile forces sent over 900 drones. In his view, the Kremlin is not seeking peace but intends to continue the war.
Residents of 13 regions in Russia experienced what Ukrainians have been enduring for more than three years overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, air defense forces carried out standard duty measures that resulted in the destruction and interception of 296 Ukrainian drones across several regions, including Moscow, Bryansk, Belgorod, Vladimir, Voronezh, Ivanovo, Kaluga, Kursk, Oryol, Ryazan, Smolensk, Tver, and Tula.
The airline "Aeroflot" announced that due to the drone attacks on Moscow, the resulting restrictions at airports, and changes in air traffic, it is forced to cancel and combine flights. The airline "Pobeda," part of the Aeroflot group, also announced schedule changes.
As a result of the overnight air attacks, all airports in the Moscow air traffic hub—Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky—temporarily suspended operations. In the morning, the restrictions were lifted.
According to RBC, over 100 flights are delayed.
In Zelenograd, part of one of Moscow's administrative districts, a drone attacked the "Elma" technology park, reported the Telegram channels ASTRA and Baza. The video recordings show building façade damage and broken windows. Additionally, a car burned in the technology park's parking lot.
In Dubna near Moscow, drones reportedly attacked the "Kronshtadt" plant, which is engaged in the development of drones, reported ASTRA, citing residents' accounts.
