"Do we want to live in a world where we can enjoy life, or do we want to live in a nightmare? Vote for Trump, and you get a nightmare. Vote for Biden, and we return to normality," De Niro stated, as quoted by "The Independent." The 80-year-old actor shared his reluctance to relive the emotions he felt after the 2016 election. "We couldn't believe it happened. [Trump] is a total monster," he elaborated.
"I would never play him"
Throughout his distinguished acting career, De Niro has portrayed gangsters, murderers, and psychopaths, yet he firmly stated he would never take on the role of Donald Trump. "I would never play him as an actor because I see nothing good in him. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Not a single redeemable quality," he told "The Guardian".
If Trump wins, he will "look for" De Niro
According to the Indian channel NDTV, within the same conversation, the actor turned to the host, Bill Maher, with a forewarning: "If he wins the election, you won't be hosting this show," he said. "He will come after me. We can expect things to happen that are beyond our wildest imaginations," he continued. De Niro described Trump as "a sociopathic, psychopathic, malevolent narcissist. He's dangerous, and we need to inform those who somehow believe he'll be their savior...," he emphasized.
