"There is no one wiser and a better leader than Viktor Orban. He is fantastic," Donald Trump welcomed the head of the Hungarian government amidst his guests at the Mar-a-Lago club on Friday.

Orban Visits Trump

A video of the event was shared by Orban on his Instagram. "He's an uncontroversial figure because he decides on something, and that's final. Right? He's in charge. He's a great leader, very respected," remarked Trump.

During his tour of the United States, which began on Thursday, the Hungarian Prime Minister spent time with the former US President at Trump's Florida home. Both leaders were generous with their praises. Orban heralded Trump in various speeches and interviews as the foremost beacon of hope for peace in Ukraine.

Prior to meeting Trump, Orban visited Washington D.C. to engage with the Heritage Foundation, a leading conservative think-tank. Heritage has lately revised its foreign policy views, including a strong opposition to aid for Ukraine.

"The largest battle in international politics today is between globalists and proponents of national sovereignty. I'm delighted to find many allies in the USA at the Heritage Foundation," Orban shared on the platform X.

Biden Comments on Trump's Meeting with Orban

No engagements with current US administration officials were scheduled during the Hungarian Prime Minister's visit. When questioned about Orban's meeting with Trump, US President Joe Biden tersely advised reporters, "if I'm not worried, you should be".

During a campaign event in Philadelphia, the meeting came up again.

"Do you know who he (Trump) is meeting with today, in Mar-a-Lago? Orban from Hungary, who has openly expressed his doubt in democracy, aiming for dictatorship. That's who he is meeting with," Biden stated.
