The versatility of aluminium foil is underappreciated. Often relegated to kitchen use, it proves invaluable in numerous other scenarios, including when your remote control becomes unresponsive. Discover a trick that will alleviate much frustration.
It's a little-known fact that aluminium foil can reflect and absorb radio waves and conduct electricity. This characteristic becomes particularly useful when the batteries in our remote are running low.
Typically, remotes use larger AA batteries. This is especially inconvenient when they run out, and replacements aren't immediately available. Luckily, with a bit of aluminium foil, using the smaller AAA batteries becomes a simple fix. But how?
A simple trick to revive your remote
Start by removing the spent batteries. Next, tear off a small piece of aluminium foil and fold it into the gap between the batteries and the compartment's side with the springs.
Ensure the foil contacts the remote's metal connectors before inserting the batteries. Voila! Your remote should function flawlessly, allowing you to return to your favourite TV shows.
This technique allows an AAA battery to be temporarily substituted for an AA battery. This stopgap measure lets you avoid frustration until you can purchase replacements.
