Vladimir Putin positively assessed the initial contacts with the American administration, indicating that both sides are ready to cooperate. The Russian leader presented his position during a Thursday meeting with the FSB leadership.
The Russian president emphasized the need for a pragmatic approach to international relations, stressing the importance of moving beyond outdated perspectives. He argued that previous leaders' policies had contributed to the crisis in global diplomacy and claimed that these outdated views were beginning to create divisions within the Western community itself.
Prospects for international dialogue
Putin conveyed optimism about the potential for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine. He suggested that the current atmosphere, which he described as conducive to restoring interstate relations, could support diplomatic efforts.
The Russian president also expects potential challenges in discussions with the United States. He warned that certain Western elites would attempt to obstruct the dialogue, citing economic and political issues in Western nations as reasons for his concerns.
Strengthening state security
