Putin further commented that the proposed agreement between the USA and Ukraine concerning minerals is not Russia's concern.

"Europe must take that central role in ensuring long-term security of Ukraine, which they want to do," stated U.S. President Donald Trump earlier, following his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron in Washington, D.C.

According to Trump, Macron agrees that this is the right time and perhaps the only opportunity to end the war in Ukraine.

Trump emphasized that the most important priority is negotiating a ceasefire "as soon as possible," with the ultimate goal of achieving "lasting peace."
