North Korean missile hits Kyiv, USA components found
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed that the ballistic missile that struck Kyiv originated from North Korea, with most of its components manufactured in the USA.
On Thursday, Kyiv was targeted in a missile attack that resulted in the deaths of 12 civilians, including children, and injured 90 people.
Zelensky stated that the ballistic missile used in the attack was produced in North Korea, with most of its components sourced from American companies.
Components from the USA in a missile from North Korea
Zelensky emphasized that the details of the missile are still under investigation. However, it is already known that it contained at least 116 components imported from other countries, most of which were manufactured in the USA.
"The lack of pressure on Russia allows them to import such missiles and other weapons and use them here in Europe. The lack of pressure on North Korea and its allies enables them to produce such ballistic missiles," Zelensky wrote on Telegram.
Joint defense as the key to security
The President of Ukraine noted that in today's world, any war can quickly involve many different actors.
"Any country that becomes a victim of aggression is always defending itself not against a single entity, but against a group of accomplices," he added.
Zelensky expressed gratitude to all those supporting Ukraine by supplying air defense systems and missiles and exerting pressure on Russia and its allies.
Russian attack on Kyiv
During the night of April 23 to 24, Kyiv became the target of a massive missile attack. Russian missiles and drones struck the city, causing the deaths of at least 12 people and injuring over 100. Among the injured were at least 12 children, the youngest of whom was just one and a half years old.
As a result of the missile attack on Kyiv, at least 44 people were hospitalized, with over 30 still in the hospital.
