Netflix co‑founder Reed Hastings donates $7M to Harris campaign
Co-founder of Netflix, Reed Hastings, donated $7 million to the Super PAC organization, which is collecting contributions for Vice President Kamala Harris's candidacy in the U.S. presidential election, a source close to Hastings reported, according to Reuters.

This is the largest political donation Hastings has given to a single candidate.
Hastings congratulated Harris on Monday after she received the support of the majority of Democratic delegates to become the party's candidate against Republican Donald Trump in November.
"Congrats to Kamala Harris – now it is time to win," wrote Reed Hastings in a post on the social media platform X.
Hastings co-founded Netflix in 1997 and stepped down as CEO in 2023. He currently serves as the executive chairman of Netflix's board.
President Joe Biden stepped down as the Democratic candidate in the 2024 elections under pressure from Democrats in Congress and donors, including Hastings.
Another record broken
Kamala Harris raised $81 million in contributions in the last 24 hours for the Democratic campaign. "This is the largest 24-hour fundraiser in history," wrote people from her team on the platform X.
According to CBS News, "this staggering amount" highlights the enormous financial advantage of the vice president over potential contenders for the Democratic nomination. Although Joe Biden, stepping down from the election, pointed to Kamala Harris as his successor in the race for the White House, officially, it is the delegates at the Democratic convention who nominate the candidate. And this will take place in August.
