Nancy Pelosi praises Biden as he steps aside for Kamala Harris

Nancy Pelosi issued a statement following Joe Biden's decision not to run in the presidential election. On platform X, she wrote, "God has blessed America with the greatness and goodness of Joe Biden."

The former Democratic Party leader in the House of Representatives and longtime Biden ally was heavily involved in pressuring the incumbent president to withdraw from seeking re-election.

When Joe Biden announced his decision, she issued a statement filled with understanding and sympathy.

"President Joe Biden is a patriot who has always put our country first. His legacy of vision, values, and leadership makes him one of the most significant presidents in American history," Pelosi wrote on platform X.

The former Speaker of the House emphasized, "God has blessed America with the greatness and goodness of Joe Biden."

On Sunday evening Eastern Time, Joe Biden announced he would not run for the U.S. presidency.

He informed the public via platform X. "I believe that it is in the best interest of my party and country for me to step aside," Biden stated.

Shortly thereafter, he wrote that he sees Kamala Harris, the current Vice President of the United States, as the Democratic Party's candidate.
