Attack on Kryvyi Rih: U.S. response

"Horrified that tonight a ballistic missile struck near a playground and restaurant in Kryvyi Rih. More than 50 people injured and 16 killed, including 6 children. This is why the war must end," wrote U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink. "Ukrainian Pravda" noted that Brink did not specify in her post that the missile or the attack was carried out by Russia.

Horrific attack on Zelensky's hometown

According to social media users, a Russian ballistic missile hit a restaurant in a residential area. AFP reported that there was a playground nearby. Andriy Kovalenko, head of the government's Center for Combating Disinformation, stated that the Russians most likely used an Iskander missile.

The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed the target was a location where Ukrainian soldiers were meeting with Western instructors. The government in Kyiv emphasized that this is misinformation.

Late Friday evening, the Russian army launched another attack. A residential house caught fire due to a drone strike, reported the Ukrainska Pravda portal, citing regional authorities' head Serhiy Lysak. AFP also reported, based on Lysak's account, that a 56-year-old woman was killed in the raid, and seven people, including a three-month-old baby, were injured.
