"Marry Me" Chicken

"Marry Me" Chicken, also known as "will you marry me" chicken, features pieces of chicken stewed in a creamy sauce with garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, and Parmesan. The name "Marry Me" comes from the belief that anyone who tries this dish will be so impressed that they'll want to propose to the chef. This is, of course, a joke, but it perfectly underscores how delicious and impressive this dish is.

It's a simple recipe, so even someone who hasn't completely fallen in love with cooking yet will manage without much trouble.

Ingredients:

  • 5 tablespoons of sun-dried tomato oil,
  • 4 chicken breast fillets,
  • 1 teaspoon of salt,
  • 2 garlic cloves,
  • 1 teaspoon of pink pepper,
  • 1/3 teaspoon of chili flakes,
  • 2 ounces of sun-dried tomatoes in oil,
  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme,
  • 1/3 cup of dry white wine,
  • 3/4 cup of broth,
  • 3/4 cup of cream (about 18% fat),
  • 1/3 cup of grated Parmesan (for the sauce),
  • 2/3 ounce of grated Parmesan (for sprinkling on the fillets).

Add-ons:

  • Chopped fresh basil.

Instructions:

Step 1. Heat the sun-dried tomato oil in a pan and place the chicken fillets in it. Sprinkle the meat with salt and sear on both sides until browned.

Step 2. Remove the meat from the pan. Add chopped sun-dried tomatoes, pressed garlic, pink pepper, and chili flakes. Sauté briefly, then add dried thyme and pour in the white wine, broth, and cream.

Step 3. Add grated Parmesan to the sauce and mix well. Submerge the previously seared chicken pieces in the sauce, making sure to coat them thoroughly. Sprinkle with more grated Parmesan and place in the oven preheated to 350°F for 15 minutes.

Step 4. After baking, sprinkle the meat with chopped basil. Serve "Marry Me" Chicken warm. You can pair it with rice, grains, potatoes, or a fresh baguette. Enjoy!
