The wax figure of Kylian Mbappé, the well-known player for Real Madrid and the French national team, was unveiled at Madame Tussauds in London. The athlete’s wax counterpart shows him in his characteristic pose with crossed arms, dressed in a white jersey of the French team.
During the creation of the figure, the artists paid attention to every detail. Mbappé is wearing the uniform of the French national team from last year's European Championships and a captain's armband. Interestingly, the entire outfit was donated by the player himself.
Kylian Mbappé had the opportunity to see his figure in Madrid before it was sent to London. "Let me introduce you my twin," wrote the 26-year-old Frenchman on social media, adding a photo with the wax clone. Jo Kinsey, the director of the London museum studio, emphasized that the player's reaction was enthusiastic.
"It was amazing. He said he was honoured but we're really honoured," said Kinsey, quoted by France 24.
The process of creating the figure
Before starting work on the figure, the team of artists met with Mbappé to take detailed measurements and photos. They ensured accurate reproduction of hair color, skin, and eyes, and even performed a dental scan. During the meeting, they also discussed with the player the pose in which he would be depicted.
Kylian Mbappé already has wax figures in the Berlin Madame Tussauds museum and in Paris's Grevin Museum.
