Amid rising fears of potential conflict, Prime Minister Keir Starmer is reviewing the UK’s strategy and planning increased defense spending—a move Politico describes as preparation for possible military engagement.

After thoroughly assessing its military capabilities, the UK government released a report on Monday, June 2, detailing potential threats posed by Russia. The analysis highlights risks of cruise missile strikes, cyberattacks, acts of sabotage, long-range drone operations, and orchestrated media manipulation campaigns from Moscow.

Alarmed by these UK assessments, Russian authorities have responded sharply, with Kremlin officials explicitly mentioning nuclear strikes against Britain. State media figures, particularly Vladimir Solovyov, have escalated the rhetoric even further.

Vladimir Solovyov, a prominent Kremlin propagandist and presenter on the state-run channel Rossiya 1, has issued ominous warnings of a "nuclear apocalypse" targeting the UK. On his program, Solovyov escalated threats, describing a forthcoming "Armageddon" that would inflict severe suffering on Britain.

I can't understand why the British have gone mad [with the new UK defense review]. Where do they want to clash with us? - pondered Solovyov.

Political scientist and Kremlin propagandist Dmitry Evstafiev has used even stronger statements.

They understand that if the plan for direct military confrontation with Russia, which he [Starmer] is talking about, is implemented, they will all be dead. Quickly and painfully, because death from radiation is not the best kind of death - declared Evstafiev.
