Monika Wachowiak, a renowned influencer, shared her unique recipe for cauliflower steaks on Instagram. This inventive and flavorful way to enjoy this nutritious vegetable involves slicing it thickly and marinating it in a rich blend of olive oil, garlic, herbs, and spices, then roasting it until golden brown. This process imparts the cauliflower with a nutty flavor and a crisp texture reminiscent of succulent meat steaks.

Recipe for Delicious Cauliflower Steaks

Preparing cauliflower steaks is straightforward and quick. With minimal ingredients and effort, you can serve up a delicious and wholesome meal for lunch or dinner. These steaks pair wonderfully with various sides, such as roasted potatoes, a fresh vegetable salad, or tzatziki sauce. They're also perfect as a snack or appetizer on their own.

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium cauliflower,
  • About 1 oz of olive oil or another high-quality oil,
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt,
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sweet paprika,
  • 1/2 teaspoon of curry,
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Herbes de Provence,
  • 2 cloves of garlic, pressed,
  • 2-3 handfuls of shredded mozzarella or 1 ball of mozzarella,
  • Parsley or dill for garnish.

Preparation:

  1. Using a bread knife, slice the cauliflower into thick pieces, about 0.6-0.8 inches thick.
  2. Combine the olive oil, salt, paprika, curry, Herbes de Provence, and garlic in a bowl.
  3. Generously coat each cauliflower slice with the marinade and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Roast at approximately 375-392°F for about 30 minutes.
  5. Five minutes before the cauliflower is done cooking, top it with shredded mozzarella or slices of a mozzarella ball.
  6. Finish roasting for 5 minutes, then remove from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  7. Garnish the cauliflower steaks with parsley, dill, or chives before serving.
