The Greenlandic authorities expressed dissatisfaction with Donald Trump's repeated remarks about taking control of the island. After a crisis meeting convened by Greenland's Prime Minister Mute Egede, they issued a unique statement.
"We — all party chairmen — cannot accept the repeated statements on annexation and control of Greenland," wrote the leaders of all five parties in the Greenlandic parliament.

"We as party leaders find this behaviour unacceptable towards friends and allies in a defence alliance [NATO-ed. note]," they emphasized. They added that they will continue to work for Greenland through diplomatic channels, by international law and regulations.
