Recipe for perfect onion rings

To prepare delicious and crispy onion rings, we only need a few simple ingredients:

                  
  • 2 large onions,
  • 1 cup of flour,
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs,
  • 1 cup of milk,
  • 2 eggs,
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder,
  • salt and pepper to taste,
  • oil for frying.

Preparation:

  1. Peel the onions and cut them into slices about 0.4 inches thick. Separate the slices into individual rings.
  2. Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. In a second bowl, beat the eggs and add the milk.
  4. Dip each onion ring first in the flour, then in the egg and milk mixture, and finally in the breadcrumbs, thoroughly coating it on all sides.
  5. Heat the oil in a deep skillet or deep fryer to a temperature of about 350°F.
  6. Fry the onion rings until golden, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  7. Drain them on a paper towel and sprinkle with sea salt.

  • You can double-coat them in flour, egg, and breadcrumbs for even crispier onion rings.
  • You can add your favorite herbs and spices to the coating, such as sweet paprika, oregano, or granulated garlic.
