There are many variations of chocolate cake. You might opt for a classic brownie recipe, a salami cake, or something no-bake like a three-layer chocolate no-bake cake. It turns out you can also bake it with apple puree and without using flour. A gluten-free chocolate cake (provided you use the appropriate baking powder) can be a great dessert for those on a gluten-free diet. To achieve the right texture and avoid a gooey mess (though the cake will resemble brownies), follow the preparation steps below.

How to enhance the flavor of chocolate cake

In addition to the four basic ingredients, you can enhance your flourless chocolate cake by adding a favorite sweetener (e.g., 2–3 tablespoons of maple syrup), 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and/or a pinch of salt. In the basic version, use suitably sweet apples to ensure the chocolate cake tastes good without an additional sweetener.

Recipe for flourless chocolate cake

This cocoa-rich cake is perfect for chilly fall weather, as it pairs well with milk tea or coffee with milk.

Ingredients:

  • 2 apples
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1.8 oz of good-quality cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder (gluten-free or regular)

Preparation:

  1. Separate the eggs, placing the whites in the fridge for a moment.
  2. Peel the apples, remove the seeds, and cut them into smaller pieces. Transfer them to a blender and combine with the yolks.
  3. Add cocoa and baking powder, then blend again.
  4. Beat the egg whites until stiff.
  5. Gently fold the egg whites into the chocolate mixture.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a 6x6-inch baking form and bake for about 25 minutes at 350°F. Ensure the oven is well preheated.
