Florida man arrested for threats against Trump on Facebook
A 73-year-old man from Florida in the United States, Glen DeCicco, was arrested for making threats against President Donald Trump on Facebook, according to Blaze Media.
The police in Florida arrested Glen DeCicco for posting threats against President Donald Trump on Facebook. DeCicco was charged with making written threats of murder after users reported his posts.
The police, in collaboration with the Secret Service, analyzed DeCicco's posts, leading to his arrest. Former FBI agent Stuart Kaplan emphasized that authorities are currently focusing on acting preventively by identifying potential threats before they are carried out.
During interrogation, DeCicco attempted to downplay his posts, claiming they were merely "a creative wordplay." Nevertheless, he was detained and placed in a Palm Beach County jail.
"In this day and age, law enforcement is now utilizing proactive measures to get out in front of it. Instead of waiting for someone to actually be in the planning and preparation stage, we're actually trying now to identify those potential individuals as potential targets, opening up investigations," the police emphasized.
Donald Trump decided to impose tariffs on goods imported to the USA from 180 countries, starting at 10%. A 20% tariff was imposed on the European Union, and 34% on China. There is no mention of Russia, Belarus, Cuba, or North Korea on the list. The new, higher tariffs are set to take effect starting Saturday.
According to the "New York Post," some stores in New York are encouraging customers to make purchases quickly before the decision takes effect. They are urging the purchase of electronics, home appliances, and cars.
Customers are increasingly concerned that product prices might rise, fearing that companies could take advantage of the situation to push prices even higher, as noted by a 27-year-old salesperson from Flushing PC Richards & Son.
