The car driven by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks was found near Trump's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, sources close to the investigation into the shooting told "The Wall Street Journal".

Explosives were secured inside, the newspaper reports. These reports are also confirmed by the Associated Press agency. Law enforcement officers told the agency that materials for bomb production were found in the car.

"A similar discovery was made in Crooks' home," it reads.

Informants provided information to the agency on the condition of anonymity, it was added.

In the available recordings online, shots can be heard, and the former president of the USA can be seen hiding behind the podium. Security agents rushed to the stage, assisting Trump, wounded in the ear, as he left the stage.

Thomas Matthew Crooks was neutralized by the services present on-site.

As a result of the attack, a participant in the meeting with Trump also lost their life.
