The toilet bowl is in constant contact with water, leading to stubborn limescale deposits that are difficult to remove. To restore its cleanliness and shiny appearance, try this trick. Often, toilet gels are not effective under the waterline, where limescale accumulates the most. However, you can tackle this problem with a homemade cleaning solution using ingredients available at home.

Homemade toilet cleaner tablet: The toilet will shine

Vinegar and citric acid are known for dissolving limescale, but they may need support when deposits hide in the toilet's nooks and crannies. In this case, baking soda works well, especially when combined with an acid.

The recipe for a homemade toilet descaler includes baking soda or baking powder, citric acid, water, and optionally, a fragrance oil.

Fifteen minutes and the problem is gone: limescale in the bowl disappears

Combine 1/3 cup of baking powder or baking soda with 1/2 cup of citric acid, add a few drops of fragrance oil, and finally some water. Let the prepared mixture sit briefly, then place it in a silicone mold and freeze for at least an hour.

Drop the hardened tablets into the toilet bowl for at least 15 minutes to effectively remove limescale and leave a pleasant scent. For more severe stains, extend the duration to 30 minutes. Once the process is complete, simply flush with water. Similar tablets can also be used to remove limescale from dishwashers and washing machines.
