Many people can't imagine a day without a cup of hot, freshly brewed coffee. Often, the used coffee grounds are discarded, but this is a mistake worth reconsidering. Save them for later to clean your toilet. The bowl will look as good as new, and any residue and unpleasant odors will vanish. After your morning coffee, start collecting the grounds in a jar to later transform them into a natural, homemade, and highly effective cleaning agent.

Homemade toilet cleaning method

Coffee grounds, instead of ending up in the trash, can become your ally in the quest for cleanliness. Mix them with baking soda and vinegar, and you'll create a potent cleaning mixture. Apply this to the entire surface of the toilet in the evening and leave it overnight. In the morning, just flush and enjoy the gleaming ceramic.

It may sound unusual, but it makes perfect sense and works effectively. Coffee contains natural acids that dissolve deposits, while baking soda and vinegar further disinfect and neutralize unpleasant odors.

You'll need:

  • 6 tablespoons of coffee grounds
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh, ground coffee
  • 2 tablespoons of baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon of vinegar

Preparation method:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Spread the resulting paste evenly over the toilet surface, including hard-to-reach areas.
  3. Leave it overnight.
  4. In the morning, scrub the toilet thoroughly with a brush and flush.

The toilet will be shiny and clean, and the unpleasant odor will be gone. You can adjust the ingredient proportions based on the level of dirt and the size of the area you need to clean.

What else can you use the coffee paste for?

The coffee grounds, baking soda, and vinegar paste can do more than just clean the toilet. Placing a bowl of the mixture in the refrigerator can eliminate unpleasant odors. It can also help clean the kitchen sink. Adjust the ingredient proportions according to the degree of dirt.

The grounds alone are versatile. They can effectively deter slugs and serve as fertilizer for potted and garden plants. Coffee grounds also have great applications in cosmetics.

Those with brown hair can use them to darken their hair color. Simply brew a few cups of strong coffee, cool it, and mix it with conditioner, then apply to the hair. Grounds can also be used as a natural body scrub, making the skin smoother and firmer.
