What happened in Mykolaiv?

Ukrainian media reported that explosions occurred in Mykolaiv. The city's mayor, Oleksandr Senkevych, confirmed this information, emphasizing that the situation is tense.

"Around 11:57 PM Eastern Time, the Russian aggressor attacked the city with missiles," Senkevych reported in a Telegram post.

Authorities in the Kyiv region reported that Ukrainian air defense was active in the area.

Earlier, Ukrainian air forces warned of the risk of missile attacks in the southern part of the country.

The truce was not extended

On Sunday, Reuters reported that Vladimir Putin did not extend the Easter ceasefire. The truce was in effect until midnight from Sunday to Monday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized Russia for not observing the Easter truce. He noted that Moscow did not fulfill its promise of a ceasefire on the main front lines. Zelensky proposed that Russia cease drone and missile attacks on civilian infrastructure for at least 30 days.
