The first drones appeared over occupied Crimea on Thursday. Sirens wailed in Sevastopol, Saky, and Cape Tarkhankut. Then, things escalated to Russian territory.

According to the Crimean wind channel on Telegram, Russians panicked during another attack on Crimea. Aircraft were scrambled from airports, and speculation about a probable attack on the Crimean bridge began to circulate online.

After the attack, Russian authorities announced that more than 20 Ukrainian drones were shot down. However, they warned that a missile attack might be imminent. They claimed the drones were only used for surveillance, to check the location of the Russian air defense.

There was no further attack on Crimea, but the situation heated up on Russian territory. During the night, explosions were heard in Krasnodar Krai, the Adygea Republic, and even Volgograd.

A hot night in Russia

In Krasnodar Krai, explosions were reported by residents of Yeysk, Krasnodar, and areas around Severin.

According to residents of Yeysk, a large fire broke out near a military base after one of the explosions.

In Krasnodar, a station and a boiler house were reportedly hit. Several buses were damaged, and four people were reported injured.

Residents also reported that a drone hit a fuel base in Krasnodar.

As confirmed by the regional operational center, one of the drones undoubtedly hit an oil refinery in the town of Ilsky in Krasnodar Krai. A fire broke out, but authorities claim it was quickly extinguished. Two people were reported injured.

Local authorities spoke of a "mass attack" of drones on Krasnodar Krai. Reports emerged that there could have been around 100 drones.

The Astra channel, citing residents, also reported a drone attack on Volgograd.

Officially, the Ria Novosti agency, citing operational command reports, announced that the mass drone attack was repelled by air defense forces.
